CTB-B cold applied polypropylene tape consists of a unique polypropylene woven backing, coated with a layer of highly viscous compound, formulated from modified butyl rubber and asphalt. It is used for corrosion protection as well as for mechanical protection of coatings such as cold applied tapes, which do not have such protection.
It has a high tensile strength, very good impact resistance, excellent aging characteristics. It is UV resistant and non-toxic. It is a versatile product which can be used widely in oil, gas, chemical, water supply and sewerage industries for corrosion protection of pipelines, storage tanks, and irregular shapes. It is particularly useful for below the ground applications. It offers more superior protection, compared to Cold Applied Polyethylene Tape.
