CTB-L aluminum foil tape is useful for above the ground applications where, in addition to corrosion protection, excellent UV resistance is required. It is a cold applied product consisting of a toughening aluminum foil backing, coated with a proprietary formulation of modified butyl rubber and asphalt. The adhesive layer has a strong cohesive property and superior sealing performance combined with high flexibility. It has strong anti-ageing properties and will not crack even after many years of exposure to outdoor environment. It adheres to substrates even under repeated thermal expansion and contraction due to variation in outdoor temperatures.
It is extensively used for corrosion protection of pipes and other steel structures in natural gas, petroleum, chemical, pharmaceutical, water and district heating industries.
